First Friday in Advent 12/04/2009
We all may have had a very busy week and wonder, "Where did it go?" Thankfully the weekend is upon us and we have the time to (HOPEFULLY) slow down a little and reflect as we enter into the second week of this Holy Season. Today is the first Friday of the month and also of the Season. It makes me pause and wonder about the magnitude of Jesus' love for us and how he suffered and died for us. We should not only think of this during Lent but at all times and most especially when we look upon the cross. I believe that in stopping and reflecting gives us the opportunity to once again get ready to welcome Him into our hearts at Christmas as well in being ready for His second coming. We can ask ourselves, "How have I fallen short? How have I fallen off the path?" Below is a video which is very powerful both in words and picture. The words of the song is by the Australian group, The Newsboys and the video is from The Passion of the Christ. If you did see the movie and was upset by the violence that was portrayed (crucifixion always involved brutality) then I would suggest that you not view this segment but still ready your heart through the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. |
