"When a busy Martha asked Jesus to speak to her sister that she was letting Martha to do all the serving, He answered her: "Mary has chosen the better part [...]." This better part is to be beside Christ, to sit at His feet and listen intently with faith to His words spoken to us through the Bible."

"Christ did not say about the evangelical merchant, who certainly had many things, that he sold only part of what he had. Instead, Christ said that he left joyfully and sold everything that he had. He got rid of everything. He became poor. If he wanted to hold onto something, then he would not have been able to purchase the pearl."

“Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God’s love. Permit me, little children, to lead you, open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that all the good that is in you may blossom and bear fruit one hundred fold. Begin and end the day with prayer with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."

This homily was delivered yesterday morning at Immaculate Conception Parish at the 9AM Mass in Hendersonville, NC

I am leaving at 4:30AM (Friday) for NC to visit my mother who is a resident in a nursing home.  I will be presiding and preaching Sunday at the local church and hope to record my homily. However, since I do not have a laptop and my software, I will not be able to upload my homily until Monday early evening when I return to WV.
