You are sleepless; you want to judge everything, direct everything and see to everything and you surrender to human strength, or worse- to men themselves, trusting in their intervention - this is what hinders my words and my views. Oh how much I wish from you this surrender, to help you and how I suffer when I see you so agitated! Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from my protection and to throw you into the jaws of human initiative. So, trust only in me, rest in me, surrender to me in everything.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of Your Mother, Mary, we want to stop directing everything and start praying to You to take over in our lives. May we learn to stop judging and fretting about things and instead turn to You for help. May we learn to surrender our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.

“Why do you not put your trust in me? I know that you have been praying for a long time, but really, surrender yourself. Abandon your concerns to Jesus. Listen to what He says in the Gospel: And who among you, through his anxiety, is able to add a single cubit, to the length of his life’ (Mt. 6:27). Pray also, in the evening when you have finished your day. Sit down in your room, and say to Jesus: ‘Thank you.’ If in the evening you fall asleep in peace, and in prayer, in the morning you will wake up thinking of Jesus. You will then be able to pray for peace, but if you fall asleep in distraction, the day after will be misty, and you will forget even to pray that day.” Sunday, October 30, 1983
Novena of Surrender to the will of God – Day Five

And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in my arms; I will let you find yourself, like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river. What troubles you and hurts you immensely are your reason, your thoughts and worry, and your desire at all costs to deal with what afflicts you.
O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)
(I have to say that Jesus’ words are comforting. There is power in this image. We often find ourselves confronted with a change in our life, something unexpected and maybe difficult. We can respond with fear and the need to control the situation, which will lead us into a spiral of chaos. Or we can respond with complete surrender to Jesus, in which we place all our fears in His heart, and then rest on His chest, letting Him carry us. “Who among you, through his anxiety, is able to add a single cubit to the length of his life?” Jesus alone can carry us over the unexpected paths we encounter. He will do it. We only have to surrender.)

DAY ONE of the St. James Parish Christmas Novena

Today St. James Parish begins the annual Christmas Novena! They will climb Apparition Hill each day ( 2PM Medj time and 8AM EST)for nine days before Christmas, praying the Rosary. Mary TV will stream the climb each day, live! It is a beautiful way to prepare for The Nativity of Christ!

A Message from Our Lady:
December 19, 1985 “Dear children! Today I wish to call you to love of neighbor. The more you love your neighbor, the more you shall experience Jesus especially on Christmas Day. God will bestow great gifts on you if you surrender yourselves to Him. I wish in a special way on Christmas Day to give mothers my own special motherly blessing, and Jesus will bless the rest with His own blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Novena of Surrender to the Will of God (Don Dolindo Ruotolo) Don Dolindo Ruotolo, a holy priest in Italy, who died in 1970, wrote down some wonderful words that he received from the Lord about surrender. These little meditations make up a Novena of Surrender to the Will of God. We feel that this simple novena is a great help to those who wish to give themselves completely to the Lord. What better present could we give to Baby Jesus than our surrender to Him. So we will pray this little novena after the Parish climb each day.

Day One:
Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.
