Here is what Our Lady once said about the need to surrender:
"Dear children! I am calling you to that love which is loyal and pleasing to God. Little children, love bears everything bitter and difficult for the sake of Jesus who is love. Therefore, dear children, pray that God come to your aid, not however according to your desire, but according to His love. Surrender yourself to God so that He may heal you, console you and forgive everything inside you which is a hindrance on the way of love. In this way God can move your life, and you will grow in love. Dear children, glorify God with a hymn of love so that God's love may be able to grow in you day by day to its fullness. Thank you for having responded to my call." June 25, 1988
Novena of Surrender to God's Will, Day Three
(Jesus speaks to Father Donlindo Ruotolo)
How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and material need turns to me, looks at me and says to me; "You take care of it," then close its eyes and rests. In pain you pray for me to act, but that I act in the way you want. You do not turn to me, instead, you want me to adapt to your ideas. You are not sick people who ask the doctor to cure you, but rather sick people who tell the doctor how to [cure you]. So do not act this way, but pray as I taught you in the Our Father: "Hallowed be thy Name", that is, be glorified in my need. "Thy kingdom come", that is, let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with your kingdom. "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven", that is, in our need, decide as you see fit for our temporal and eternal life.
If you say to me truly: "Thy will be done". Which is the same as saying: "You take care of it". I will intervene with all my omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations.
O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)
Pray 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory be.
Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of your Mother, Mary, give us the grace to close the eyes of our souls, and rest with You, our Lord and God. May we let go of our own solutions to our problems, and instead accept Your plans for us. May we learn to entrust our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.
