On this day in 1998 I was ordained to the priesthood at the age of 43. These past 19 years have certainly been an interesting journey to say the least. The "highs" have been very "high" and the "lows" have made me feel like I was in a deep ravine. I have often been asked when I have given my testimony and the answer is "No." I think back on how Anthony wished to be a Franciscan and a martyr and look at what happened to him! He got part of his wish/desire but God had something else that He wanted Anthony to accomplish for Him. St. Anthony is certainly a powerful Saint and Intercessor in the life of the Church. Each one of us needs to ask ourselves if we are indeed being truly open to God's will in our life. God used Anthony to accomplish great things and He wishes the same for us! The question is "Are we open to the challenge?"
